A Wing And A Prayer
This isn't so much about the piece of jewelry, but why it was created.
We are in the hot August dog days of summer. School has started here in Georgia and Labor day is just around the corner. There's something else that's just over the hill too. Something that 10 years ago changed my families lives and thousands of others in ways we never would have expected.
September 11, 2001.
I've created 4 pieces of special jewelry in memory of all the lives that were lost and effected by the tragedy of that day.
A quiet memory of lives lost and changed, of hero's not expecting to be made, and a Nation unified in the presence of unspeakable horror.
These are my personal expression of healing. Something to hold onto, something to remember, because we should never forget, and I'm honored and proud to be an American.
These are just very simple necklaces embodying deep, profound personal meaning.
Glass heart beads in red, white and blue are individually hand-wired and attached to four different symbols. A five point star, a single angel wing, a double angel wing and an open heart.
The necklaces are 19" long and closes with a lobster claw clasp.
