Wire wrapping small beads to an earring frame is very popular now and here is one of my favorite styles, inspired by some in a great book, The Earring Style Book, by Stephanie A. Wells.

It has wonderful photos and very clear tutorials. I love my public library!

The wire used in these two pairs is silver plated, 18 gauge for the earring frame and 26 for the wire wrapping. I think this style is perfect for Spring and Summer attire, from t-shirts and jeans to evening dress.

Once you get the technique, the possibilities are endless for clustering groups of beads within a framed space.

Silver Plated!!!!
by: DotBoo

They look live sterling silver to me, it shows that whatever material you use in a way does nothing to do with the crafting of the piece. Great Job!!!!!!!

Surprised!

Yes, I was surprised how easy this silver plated wire was to use in these larger pieces. I needed them work hardened in order to wire wrap on the beads without torquing the design. So after tapping the frames with a leather mallet, I decided to go for it and forged them to further harden and flatten the wire. Looks good to me and no scratches or base wire showing through.

It's a good option for larger pieces that require more wire, and I can keep my prices reasonable for customers.
