Autumn & Acorns

The inspiration

I have a fascination with oak trees I can't quite explain. I've made a few pieces of jewelry with wire oak leaves.

A few days ago, while walking my dog, I found some lovely little acorns just begging to be imitated in jewelry. Some were green, others brown. I was inspired!

So here is what I came up with.

You never know where you'll find inspiration - just look around but watch where you're going.

Inspiration
by: Lynda Carson

Zoraida- love your little story of inspiration from nature. And the resulting piece is lovely. Makes me long for cooler fall days.
May I ask, what stones were used? The colors are beautiful and perfect for the acorns.

Lynda

Thanks Lynda

Thank you for the compliments Lynda.

The large brown bead is an agate, I'm not sure about the green stones. I believe they are some sort of jasper. I bought them over a year ago at a bestfest.

Acorns
by: Kate

From little acorns, big oaks grow.
Lovely lovely lovely. I fo like your wire work on this and the acorns are so sweet, the colours just so right.
I love it.

Great fall necklace!

Nuts for Acorns!
by: Delia Stone

Zoraida, LOVE your acorn necklace. Acorns were always special treasures to me when I was a girl. I liked to find the biggest ones I could find and hoard the little caps. I don't know why I was always so fascinated with them but I couldn't help myself. :) This is sure to fly off your table and into the hands of a customer who will just go NUTS for it (pun intended). :) Lovely work!

Thank so much ladies!

Thanks Kate, Joan and Delia! You comments are like music to my creative soul.

How can anyone not love acorns- they're little marvels of nature.

Delia, it's good to know I'm not the only one who's nuts about nuts. I also like to collect rocks, leaves, pinecones, branches, seashells and anything else interesting and small enough to take home.
