I'm one of those people who likes to pick up acorns just because they are soo beautifully designed by nature. Oak trees in particular seem sacred to me for some unknown reason.
I wanted to capture some of that feeling and honor the oaks in this simply designed necklace.
The leaves are shadows of what they were in summer and spring but still quite beautiful.
These were created with brass wire. I used browns and golds with a little green using amber chips, jaspers and agates to adorn my leaves.
Brass wire in heavier gauges is quite hard and difficult to bend and shape but I do like how the metal color complimented the warm beads. I think copper would work as well.
