Beaded Bead Minaret Pendant With Khaki Swarovski Crystals

This pendant starts with a 3mm bugle bead squared rectangle worked in even count peyote stitch. It is then embellished with layers of 6mm bugles. The 3mm rectangle ends stick out enough to hold the bead caps in place at the ends. It is then that I use the gold-filled wire to hold it all together. The last layer is a corner to off-set corner with 12mm bugles and 8mm Swarovski crystals. The tassel is a silk one from India. And the chain is of finely woven vintage brass.

I love to mess around with bugle beads. I discovered one day that instead of making a circle with seed beads I could make a square with bugle beads using the same stitch. And it could grow to a rectangle and that in turn could be embellished with more bugles and seed beads and crystals. It's a fun process and I feel I have only begun to imagine what I could do with it.
