Black Lip Shell Mother & Child

Black lip shell is the specialty of Tahiti in French Polynesia Salt Lake of the South Pacific territory. There are a series of coral islands in the South Pacific between Australia and South America, that are rich in the black lip shell. The black-lip shell is a mollusc secrete a gray and black nacre layer. Because of the shape like a butterfly it is called Black lip shell.

The shell is wire-wrapped 14K gold-filled wire, I also wrap them in sterling silver wire. The beauty of these shells is, because they are natural each one looks different and unique.
