Blooming Copper Choker
This piece was inspired by the 'Cascade' Necklace by Laura Tabakman. I loved the simplicity of the polymer clay discs she used and the organic feel of the piece.
Guessing how she made them, I used copper, pearl, translucent and black clays to make a blended bull's eye cane, from which I cut the slices that I thinned and stretched to size.
Once cured, I used copper-coloured artistic wire to 'string' the 'beads' loosely on to a choker wire.
They are interspersed with small polymer beads I made from the left-over scraps.
The wires rotate freely so the piece has movement, which I really like to incorporate into my necklaces if possible.
