Copper and Brass Textured Earrings Mixed metal earrings - brass and copper

This was my stab at starting with sheet metal. The back piece is actually copper that I got in a 5-pack sample set from a copper supplier, with samples of 5 textured products.

The front, smaller piece is plain red brass that I textured using the back end of a riveting hammer.

Got the edges mostly smooth with filing, but then tumbled them, and this really gave them a nice smooth finish.

I made a second pair and oxidized those - but I think I really like the bright finish ones best! I wonder which one folks will like best.

With the exploding price of silver, my plan is to introduce more copper and brass items this year. Also, I just like the effect of the contrasting colors!

I love these mixed warm-colored metals, the textures and the oxidizing! These would be wonderful, wear with everything earrings. Thanks so much for sharing these with us!

Lovely!

I really like the different textures that go along with the two toned look. I think that really makes them pop, along with that gorgeous shine you added! They are finished beautifully. Excellent work!

Thanks Ladies! Input is always helpful, especially the old "to oxidize or not to oxidize" question. With these it's really hard because both offer such different looks, and I kinda like both! I have a few similar pairs, so I guess I'll do some and leave some shiny.

I love them both

Wow - nice. It's hard to choose - I love them both!
