Copper and Sterling Earrings

Copper and Sterling Earrings

Copper and Sterling Earrings

Sharilyn Miller is one of my favorite wire jewelry designers. These two pair of earrings were inspired by her work.

The copper parts were hammered for shape and texture. Sterling silver wire was added for the detail work.

Both have handmade ear wires.

The pieces were then oxidized, buffed with OOOO steel wool, and polished for shine.

Carnelian and peridot beads were added to the the long pendant style earrings.

I also got to try out my new metal hole punch. Love, love, love it!

love those earrings
by: Barbara

I love hammered copper. What kind of punch did you get? I need something that will do quite small holes and yours look about what I'm after, whatever the width would be to fit 20 gauge wire jump rings. The punches I've found are much larger diameter.

Thanks,
Barbara

Metal hole punch tool
by: Lynda

Hi, Barbara,
I love the warm glow of the copper too. The hole punch I purchased is a Euro Tool- hole size round 1.8mm. They also have a 1.25mm punch, but that may still be too large for the jump rings you have in mind. This one is advertised for use up to and including 18 gauge metal.
