Copper Heart Earrings

by Sharon Beadle-Harris
(Minneapolis, MN)

Don't we all love the earthy feeling of copper, especially to wear in Autumn? I was quite taken with with the interesting patina finish on these open hearts.

African Kazuri beads are a staple in my bead stash and found a couple of them in this rich cranberry red color that is in good harmony with the hearts. The ceramic beads are hand made in Kenya under an International Fair Trade agreement that guarantees decent wages and working conditions for the tribal women who create them.

Very attractive pieces. I love the hearts and the beads to go with it. Great earrings.

Earthy Autumn

Your earrings are marvelous! I love the harmony in the shapes and color of the elements you used, especially the inclusion of the brass beads under the Kazuri's.

It reminds me of the look created by the African tribe that uses necklaces to elongate woman's necks. it's just a small but highly defining detail.

The patina on your copper hearts glows beautifully. Using International Fair Trade agreement beads just adds to the authenticity of your design.

Thanks so much for sharing.
