Copper Love Blues

Copper Love Blues

I started creating this necklace with a copper heart which somehow morphed into two.

Originally it stood upright, point down, when my daughter (the most artistically gifted person I've ever known), said "it's top heavy mom, turn it around".

She was right of course but I still wanted it to have more weight and mportance.

It then grew spirals.

After some hammering, I was finally satisfied.

I then chose the Amazonite beads for their cool, contrasting color and hoped their simple uniform size would enhance but not compete with the focal pendant.

The overall design looks somehow ancient to me and I like that.

Wirework!
by: Rena

Love the wirework in this piece!

Also, I enjoyed hearing the process of how this design evolved. It's always inspiring to see how other jewelry artists' finished pieces evolve from the original idea.

Thanks for sharing this gorgeous piece and the story behind it!
