I literally found a piece of copper plate in my driveway. It was somewhat weathered and begging to be made into a jewelry element.
I borrowed my husband's shears and cut it into a shape. I then etched it with a fine jewelry file since I have no real scribing tools and created a pendant from which I hung a hammered spiral.
I designed the necklace around this copper piece. I thought the beautiful, earthy Agate beads complimented it perfectly.
Overall, I was happy with the outcome.
