Copper Wired Bangles

Copper bangle with turquoise Copper bangle with azurite coins

Saw this bangle bracelet shape in a store - using one piece of thick sterling silver wire. It was hammered for texture, but was unadorned.

I saw possibilities in using the basic wire form as a frame to wire wrap beads on. I used fairly thick copper wire to make the frame - don't know the gauge because it was scrounged once again from the garage.

It was a bit tough to get the shape of the bangle using the widest part of an old baseball bat as a mandrel. A leather mallet helped the process.

The first one has turquoise beads wire wrapped inside the frame and the second one has azurite coin beads and a variety of glass.

Both pieces were oxidized in a liver of sulphur solution - then, buffed with OOOO steel wool.

Copper Bangles

I'm enjoying all your copper creations, Lynda! I love your use of blue-green color with copper in both of these bracelets.

Thanks for posting these two bracelets together - interesting to see their very different styles next to each other. I keep trying to choose a favorite between them - but I keep deciding that I really like them both! :o)

Thank you, Rena--

I am thoroughly enjoying the wonderful properties and beauty of copper. And will continue until the Sterling Silver gods regain their common sense of decency and bring down the price! Until then...
