Wearable Art Jewelry

My name is Cornelia Baciu, I am from Romania and I have been in Abu Dhabi for 3 years now. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages and until recently I had a full time job but I have decided now to concentrate on my passion - wearable art jewelry design.

I had always created my own accessories because I am the kind of person who wants to escape from the ordinary and make a statement.

Family and friends started admiring my designs and soon more and more people contacted me to create unique pieces for them.

The purpose of my jewelry is to reflect the personality of the individual who wears it and to make her more special because of its unique appearance, the originality, the bold and daring design and not necessarily because of the preciousness of the material.

We are used to see art only in museums or art galleries - I am trying to bring it to life in a different way - reinventing and reinterpreting it in original and unique handmade constructions of wearable art jewelry.

I focus in particular on combined contemporary design and various mixed media techniques, creating unusual works of wearable art using polymer clay, wire, fabric, resin, shell, wood, felt, lace, vintage and contemporary pieces of jewelry and beads.

My designs can be considered bold and daring, they capture the attention of people around us and they are meant to be out of the ordinary, to make a statement and express the personality of the person who wears them. Each piece is one of a kind, meticulously handmade and hand painted and cannot be exactly reproduced.

It is meant for a person who wants to be original and to be able to say "no one else has what I am wearing!"

Please take a look at my jewelry blog and let me know what you think - your feedback is highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Cornelia Baciu

Art jewelry inspired by famous painters
by: Rena

Cornelia, these are fabulous and fascinating! What a cool way to turn famous paintings into jewelry. I think these could sell very well in gift shops at art galleries and art museums.

When I visit galleries and museums, I love to see what kinds of items they carry in their shops. And I think your necklaces (here and on your blog) are more clever and unique than much of what I've seen in that type of shop.

These truly are wearable art! Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Thank you for your wonderful words
