Dismantled Spiral Notebook Charms

by Pat Barden
(Spencertown, NY)

So, for the holidays one of the places I sell my jewelry needed wine glass charms. I said I'd make them although I didn't care for the idea of out of pocket expenses for the materials. I went about me homestead looking to see what would work rather than buying hoop earwires. I spied the spiral bound notebook on the floor--perfect.

Each one is 1 1/2 loops off the notebook spiral, the ends looped outward, I used silver-plated head pins to dangle the two swarovski crystals. Each one cost me 21 cents and I made 6 within 15 minutes. I am not including the price of the notebook because it was waiting to get dismantled anyway and tossed in the recycling.

Thanks for giving us your idea to use old notebooks to make these great charms. What a great way to reuse those wire spirals.
