Earrings from the unsold lariats

by Pat Barden
(Chatham, NY)

So, I have dismantled my unsold lariats--and made them into earrings--they are nice, I think--it's similar to a style I made years ago. Not what I've been doing now.

I do not have the extra money about to get the handmade sterling silver ear-wires that I love to use from ShelsJewelrySupplies. I figured since I have a ton of the regular machine made sterling silver ear-wires I will just use those.

I opened another artfire shoppe, just calling it "earrings" and put a set price per pair, no frills come with them--no box, no tag, no organza bag--and no shipping. To make it really easy, only one picture and with a dime next to them I see so many do that--its the size chart) and it saves me measuring. I do not go into any real detail--stone, sterling silver, price.

Great use of extras

I also like the dime idea. Gives you a great visual on the scale of the earrings.

Repurposing jewelry components

Great idea, Pat! I have often taken apart my unsold pieces to re-use the components in different designs. It's a great source of free jewelry supplies! :o)

I like how these earrings turned out!
