Ebony Seed Pod and Jasper Necklace

Ebony Seed Pod and Jasper Necklace

My mother and I were taking a walk in San Benito, Texas when I saw these wonderful seed pods laying on the ground. I immediately knew what they would become...jewelry, of course, an item of self adornment.

This necklace is a result of that mid morning walk. It is made with waxed linen, bronze cubes and knots on the necklace for interest.

I used oval Jasper beads for the "seeds" and an assortment of glass, bone, and semi-precious rounds can be found in the fringe.

This piece looks great with a denim shirt and jeans and equally well with an elegant black dress.

Nannie, this necklace is so unique and truly breathtaking. I love the natural feel of it, your use of color, the waxed linen, and especially the fabulous fringe! Everything works together so perfectly.

I couldn't stop looking at this piece when I first saw it here - absolutely wonderful.
