Frozen Charlotte's Time Machine

This little brass pillbox sat on my work table for several years - it was something my mother had given to me and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.

One day I bought an extremely tiny "Frozen Charlotte" doll, and in an attempt to keep it from being lost in the black hole that is my studio I placed it in the pillbox.

And that's when the time machine idea popped into my head.

After that, it was just a matter of encasing Charlotte and some watch gears in layers of ICE resin.

For the time machine's door, I scratched the old black paint with sandpaper, layered the date dial from a man's watch and a face charm over a clock gear, and applied a little Gilder's paste for color.

This is my favorite kind of creating - when unrelated things suddenly come together almost effortlessly!

Time-Traveling Frozen Charlotte
by: Rena

Joan, I love, love, love this creation!

Such a neat way to give a new life to special odds and ends that were waiting for their story to begin.

Love Charlotte's travel schedule - I hope she's keeping a travel journal somewhere. :)

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful creation with us.

Clever!
