Make these Glamour Girl coiled wire earrings with your choice of beads.
This tutorial shows you how to make the Glamour Girl Earrings that are featured in my blog post, How to Sell Hundreds of Designer Earrings.
Materials:
24 gauge wire
22 gauge wire
14mm shell pearls or onyx
Ear wires
Tools:
Ruler
Flat nose pliers
Round nose pliers
Wire cutters
Wire coiling gizmo
How to Make the Earrings:
Using 24 gauge wire wind a 6.3" (16cm) length of spiral coil on the narrow crank rod of the wire coiling gizmo. Cut this length into 4 equal parts and neatly flush cut all ends.
Cut two 4" (10cm) lengths of 22 gauge wire. Make a small wrapped loop 1" (2.5cm) from one end to form an eye-pin and attach to ear wire.
Slide on one piece of coiled wire (make sure this slides neatly over the wire wraps at the base of the eye-pin) and add a 14mm pearl or bead of choice.
Then with the very tip of your round nose pliers commence making tiny coils on the remaining wire tail finishing firmly against the bead.
Carefully flush cut any excess coils, making sure the cut end sits against the bead. Be careful to not wind too tightly or you may put a bend in the spiral coil above the bead.
Tip:
One 10 yard (9.14m) spool of wire will yield 4 lengths of completed coil, which is then enough for 8 pair of earrings!
