Hollow glass beads embellished with gold leaf

This necklace of handmade hollow, round glass beads embellished with gold leaf.

The hollow beads are blown on a hollow mandrel, and are very light. They are rolled in gold leaf while molten, then annealed in a kiln at 960 degrees.

The beads are then strung with peridots, to create a lightweight, fashionable piece.
