"Gone in a Second" Blue Agate Pendant

Luminous blue agate captured in an enchanting silver wire net

This tiny blue Agate has been on my desk for months. Stones have "to call me" before I get a good idea.

One evening I decided to wrap the stone using the lace technique I learned browsing these newsletters.

The result was so harmonic that I decided to upload the picture to my FB page... the piece was sold in a heartbeat... no questions asked, the girl just had to have it!

I think it's the harmony between the Agate rich blue color and the oxidized silver that make the piece irresistible.

nice wrapping

I have wrapped stones using something similar to yours around the stone but never thought about adding the wires across the top of the stone. It turned out beautiful!

I and understand why this pendant was gone in a second. It's just beautiful. The blue and the oxidized silver are lovely together as is the wrapping.

This combination of stone and antiqued wirework definitely has a mystical quality. I can see why your customer realized she'd better speak up quickly if she wanted to be sure of getting it! Also, great use of Facebook to quietly promote your new pieces.

I know what you mean, that a stone has to "call" to you before you can work on it. I have that experience often too - and a stone I've had around forever suddenly speaks up to be turned into jewelry!
