Brass and teal

Brass and teal

For this bracelet, I combined teal blue stones with antiqued brass beads. I added czech glass dangles on oval jumprings that allow them to dance around when you move your wrist.

By the way, can anyone identify these stones?

Mysterious stones
by: Rena

The aged brass is just perfect with the color of the stones!

And about those lovely mystery stones - chrysocolla? azurite? african turquoise?

I'm interested to see what others think they are! :o)

magnasite?

just a guess...

just a thought

One thing I learned from my GIA courses was that if a stone looks unusual and like no other don't rule out an imitation, plastic or glass.

Blue Mystery Stones
by: Carol Bradley

It's hard to tell from this angle. They could be crazy lace agate that has been dyed blue. They could be apatite. Google both and see if they look like your stones.

My guess
by: Tina Cloud

Cute bracelet & those stones are pretty. My best guess is Chrysocolla Quartz (difficult to find). Then I would guess Apatite (Madagascar), Crazy Lace Agate (some pieces don't have as distinct of patterns), or Aqua Terra Jasper. Where did you get the stones? If they came from a bead show or shop then they are more likely to be real stones. If they came from a craft store, they are more likely to be imitation, since most of the craft stores carry the more common stones, glass, & imitations.

Your stones
by: Mimi

I have some similar blue stones that a reputable bead store buyer told me are apatite. The stone is made of of a mixture of minerals, and the name itself, apatite is based on the Greek - to deceive - meaning it can give the illusion of being several other more valuable minerals.... that's my guess!

Do you know the answer?

Maybe cuprite?

I believe.......

I have bought stones like these also and I believe I was told they are dyed agate. They're very pretty and the color does not come out.

When in doubt....

When in doubt call it agate or jasper. You have about a 75 to 80 percent chance of being correct.

Identify stones
by: Coyote Country

Your green stones look like 'ruby in zoisite'. I bought some like that from Fire Mtn. about 3 years ago. Great seller!

what is 'your' mantra?

Very pretty combination
by: Anonymous

It could be apatite or chysocolla or more likely a dyed variety of jasper (eg. chrysocolla jasper, African turquoise jasper etc).

They look like Apatite, I have some similar at home.

Mystery stones
by: Joan

Thanks to all of you for your input! After a little more research I'm leaning towards apatite, but whatever they are it's fun to see everyone's responses.

Larimar, maybe
by: Instead HCJ

these stones look like the ones I used for my daughter's gift last year. A lapidarian told me they were undyed larimar. I bought a dyed larimar this year that looks more like your teal.

'ruby in zoisite'
by: Marcia Lander

I like the Ruby in Zoisite suggestion. I see or think I see the 'ruby' within several of the circles. Pretty anyway. . . .
