Jewelry Supplies Storage

Clear drawers make great see-through storage for jewelry supplies

Clear drawers make great see-through storage for jewelry supplies

I found that the best storage units for beads and findings are the nuts and bolts storage found at ACE Hardware.

The drawers come in different sizes, and you can add dividers to any drawer to store more than one type of bead.

The front of the drawers are see-thru so you can store according to color and actually see the beads for easy selection.

They come in different size units and you can select the one that most fits your collection and also continue to add as your collection increases.

It's the best thing since sliced bread! (a caribbean saying.)

Keeps the creativity flowing!
by: Rena

Great tip, Normadelle!

Being able to see at a glance what's in each drawer is a HUGE time-saver, and prevents many lost minutes of rummaging around through containers and drawers you can't see into.

It also keeps the flow of creativity from being interrupted, when you know what you need and can access it within seconds!

Great Idea
by: Judith

Wow! What a great idea. I've always wished I could afford those fancy sets of drawers sold for beads, but this achieves the same thing at a much better price. No more lugging dozens of bead containers to my work table every time I'm ready to work. Thanks very much for sharing!

Have similar
by: Heidi Olson

I found a similar hardware storage box at a thrift store for $3!! It has 16 of the larger-sized drawers, and since I store my beads by color, I can easily see which drawer has which color. Always a fan of vintage items, I knew this storage box was likely one of the type that my dad or grandfather would have had in the garage for hardware, because a metal label on it says it's made in the U.S.A., in Ohio. Don't find that much anymore!

Works Great!

I store all my supplies in these and it works great. I added little labels on the front listing the item in each drawer to make it even easier. Of all the different storage ideas I've tried this works the best by far.

Microwave Cart - Not Just for Microwaves
by: Anonymous

I set up my beading room in a small extra bedroom but had a problem with how to juggle all the bead boxes containing all my treasures. I didn't want to keep them on the floor and they didn't all fit on my work table. So I purchased a 3-tier wire microwave cart at Lowe's and put it together easily. Each shelf holds 3 stacks of standard bead boxes perfectly. And there is a small "edge" on each shelf that keeps the bottom boxes from sliding off. Best of all - the cart has wheels so I can move from my beading room to the larger dining room when clients or friends come to work with me.
