Labradorite & Prehnite Necklace

by Zoraida
(Patchogue, NY)

Labradorite is one of my favorite stones. I love the beautiful colors and the iridescent sheen that flickers across its' surface. It's absolutely mesmerizing!

I had two of these cabs from a bead fest I attended and a strand of beautiful prehnite beads from the same show. I thought they looked perfect together. I seem to prefer monochromatic designs.

As usual, they are combined with copper, which works for me.

Better than the "grape"

I thought the stones and colors of the grape piece were wonderful but these are stunning.

Lovely labradorite
by: Rena

Labradorite is one of my favorite stones, and this is an especially lovely one. You did a great job of capturing its color and inner light - labradorite can be a tease when it comes to trying to photograph its flash!

Love how you positioned the round green bead above it - and how your wirework curves upward like a graceful vine.

Thank you for sharing this gorgeous piece with us!

Thank you Ladies !

Thank you ladies for your wonderful comments.

Labradorite is tricky to photograph but I found just the right lighting from a bedroom window. I simply placed the necklace on a white, lucite type, cutting board. This board is my favorite surface for jewelry photos. I'm always experimenting with photos.

Labradorite
by: Tamara

This necklace is very beautiful!

I learned about Labradorite a couple of weeks ago. A friend gave me a Labradorite stone (it could be made into a pendant) for my birthday. She also gave me a write-up about it. Among other things, it acts as a barrier against the harmful effects of the electro-magnetic field emitted from cell phones, computers, microwaves, etc. My friend has been tucking her stone into her bra every day for protection, and then she can still wear whatever jewellery she wants. I have started to do the same thing. My husband wants one to put on a cord. Along with the beauty of the stone, and the jewellery created with it, it's something we can share with our customers if we feel to, or take advantage of ourselves.

Gemstone Combintion
by: Linda Landig

I've never put these two gemstones together before, but you've demonstrated that they make a lovely combination. Gorgeous necklace, Zoraida!

Thanks Tamara & Linda!!!

Thanks Tamara and Linda

I enjoyed reading about Labradorite! As for combining different stones, I just put them next to each other to see if I like it, that's is how I choose. No rules.
