I prefer wire wrapping odd shaped stones, especially since one is not quite sure of the finished result.

I needed a thank you gift urgently.

I have been keeping this Blue Gold Stone for such a long time now.

So I wrapped the blue gold stone. Strung the blue gold stone chips, and added the crystals on the second strand, then centered the pendant.

I gave it to a friend recently, she cried with delight :-)

Blue goldstone in magical moonlight
by: Rena

Beautiful, Abigail! The wirework and crystals are just right to bring out the "starry sky" beauty of blue goldstone.

No wonder your friend had tears of delight!

Thank you for sharing this lovely necklace and pendant with us.

Pendant Wrapping?
by: Joanne

I have a lot of beautiful, odd shaped polished rocks, and cannot seem to wrap them securely.
Are the 4 wires coming up the sides seperate pieces, secured at the bottom and coiled (after being secured) at the top?
What gauge wire did you use? I am afraid the rocks will slide out! Thanx for the assist!

My apologies for only replying now.
In answer to your question, its 3 pieces of 22 gauge wire.
first wrap your stone with masking tape to avoid the stone from scratching. coil a 24 gauge wire in the centre of the 3 pieces It does take awhile to get the wires upward and wrapped securely on the top of the stone.
only open the wires wide once they are secure on the top.
i hope this helps.

Hi Abigail

The necklace is really stunning. I was recently on holiday in Donegal, Ireland and collected alot of stones, some semi precious from the raised beaches there. I was trying to think of ways to implement them into my jewellery making and think wire wrapping would be ideal.

Forgot by now Where wrapped Pendant is! lol
