Cameo and Pearls Necklace
Closeup of the CameoHere's an example of a lovely necklace you can make fairly quickly, when you don't have as much time as you'd like for making jewelry.
What makes this a relatively speedy project is that you can use ready-made components.
The agate mother-and-child cameo came from
Muna's Cameos, and the setting came from Rio Grande Jewelry Supply.
I mounted the cameo in the setting, using a dab of E-6000 glue on the back of the cameo to make sure it held.
Then I strung A-grade freshwater pearls onto beading wire, added a lobster clasp and one end, and at the other end attached a length of chain to make the necklace length adjustable.
I added a small pearl dangle at the end of the chain.
Then I added another pearl dangle to the bottom of the cameo pendant setting.
I attached the cameo pendant to the pearl strand with a jump ring - and voila! A necklace that's quick to make and a pleasure to wear.
I've made several necklaces in this design, and I've found that they sell quite well, especially just before Mother's Day.
I also usually give a piece of mother-and-child cameo jewelry as baby shower gifts.
