My Grandmother's buttons

Mums Button Bracelet

Mums Button Bracelet

My grandmother was a seamstress for her grandchildren and herself. She collected buttons and always let us kids play with them. When she passed away, us girls sat and reminisced about....yes! her buttons and the fond memories we had of those days.

This was a tribute to her, made and given to my cousin.

I used 2 vintage brass chain components, buttons, vintage beads, and a few other vintage things I had.

What a great looking necklace, and a wonderful tribute to your grandmother.
I have lots of those black glass buttons too, but so far I haven't really figured out how to use them. Your necklace inspires me to try again!

How lucky you are to have this beautiful stash of buttons and how lucky your cousin is to get this wonderful reminder of your grandmother. Perfect!

Beautiful !

Awesome!

What a cool idea! My great-grandma was a seamstress and I inherited her sewing cabinet. It's chock full of ivory, rhinestone and other vintage buttons. I've toyed with making them into jewelry before, but this is really inspiring. I love recycled jewelry projects!
