Labradorite 40x30mm 14K GF
This one of my favorite gemstones.
The two larger stones are 40x30mm and one is set in 22 ga 14K gold-filled dead soft square wire and the other one is set in 22 ga dead soft square sterling silver wire. The smaller stone is 25x18mm and is set in 22 ga 14K gold-filled dead soft square wire.
Here is some information I found out about Labradorite.
Labradorite was discovered about 1770. It gets its name from where it was first found, Labrador Canada. The variety of Labradorite found in Finland in the 1940's is usually called Spectrolite. Labradorite also has been found in some meteorites.
According to an Eskimo legend, the Northern Lights were once imprisoned in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. It is told that a wandering Eskimo warrior found them and was able to free most of the lights with a mighty blow of his spear. Some of the lights were still trapped within the stone, and thus we have today the beautiful mineral known as labradorite.
Labradorite is one of my favorite gemstones. There is just something about the flash of colour in the gemstones witht the iridescent schiller effect, that I find fascinating and this gem never lets me down.
Traditionally, labradorite is thought to bring good luck. Another Labradorite meaning is to be a gemstone of destiny because it opens up your psychic abilities by connecting you to the Universal flow of energies that permeates our world and universe.
