Oregon Mist

by Rebecca Stone
(Los Angeles)

Stroll through a misty garden . . . .

Stroll through a misty garden . . . .

This piece, composed predominantly of Ruby Zoisite, reminds me of a dawn stroll through a misty garden in my home state of Oregon, with lots of green, and muted shades of pink and black glinting through.

Deep rose Swarovski bicones and sterling silver bead caps add an extra sparkle and touch of frostiness. Black onyx adds punch.

Ruby Zoisite has become one of my favorite stones and when I saw these beads at a show, I knew I had to do something special with them.

I actually made this design in two versions, one as a double-strander and one as two separate strands.

I kind of like the flexibility of the latter.

Nice color combo

Lovely necklace with a nice focal bead!

I like ruby zoisite too. It's fun to match other stones with it!

On the necklace version with two separate strands - can you wear the second strand alternatively as a bracelet, by wrapping it a couple of times around your wrist?

I've been doing that lately with some of my necklaces, for fun and versatility.

Thanks for the comment, Rena

Some days I feel like wearing one and others I feel like wearing two. It would be difficult to wear this particular piece as a bracelet, but that's a really cool idea. Maybe for the next version...

Thanks,
Becky
