Patina Bird Necklace with Nest Egg

by Cheryl Marsenich
(St George,Utah,USA)

This necklace starts with a focal point of a brass mama bird that I have done a beautiful blue/green patina on, then sealed and buffed it. Below I've decopaged a one inch square wood tile with a vintage egg stamp and wrapped it with a vintage brass filigree. I've dangled 3 Czech glass charms, a red tulip a beige tulip and a green and rust leaf. Above I've linked together 3 turquoise marcasite nuggets spaced apart by diagonal cut wood cubes.

Oh, I love this necklace, Cheryl! The bird flying over the egg stamp, the egg-shape echoed in the turquoise marcasite asymmetrical beads, the colors - just wonderful.

Perfect for wearing on the first day of Spring!
