Precious metal clay jewelry is just what sounds like - jewelry made from metal that comes in clay form, which you can shape or mould just like any regular soft clay.

The difference is that this clay actually contains tiny particles of genuine metals, which are mixed with a binder and water.

After finishing your piece of metal clay jewelry, you fire it using a kiln, a small butane torch, or a gas stove burner.

The firing process burns away the binder so only the pure metal remains.

Being able to shape metal by using clay techniques offers tremendous possibilities for unique designs.

Currently metal clay is available in gold, silver, or bronze.

If you're just starting out you may want to begin with the bronze, as it's much less expensive than the silver or gold.
