Rusty Flowers Escutcheon Pendant

Here's another piece in my ongoing experiment with found object jewelry.

This little escutcheon was covered with chipped, rusty paint - just the kind of stuff I love! I stamped a delicate pattern over it with Staz-On ink, which I also used to "paint" a round piece of brass filigree. A couple of rusty flowers and a little brass butterfly with rich verdigris patina were layered over that, and I finished by hanging it on some pretty Vintaj chain.

Stay tuned for my next creation, which involves - hinges!

Loved reading your story behind this piece and the good news that staz-on ink worked on the metal. Never tried that before. What fun it must be to create each 'collage' of found bits and pieces.

Lynda, it really is fun trying to make something pretty out of a piece of throwaway junk! I was glad the Staz-On worked too, it was the first time I've tried it. It definitely stays on too - I never did get it all out of my rubber stamp!
