Save the Gulf Ocean Inspired Necklace

Save the Gulf Coast

Save the Gulf Coast

I'm just broken-hearted by what has happened to the Gulf of Mexico. Today as I was listing items to my new Artfire site I realized I had made a gorgeous, ocean inspired necklace and I could use it to raise awareness about all the wonderful folks who are in the trenches working to clean up the Gulf Oil Spill.

So, I've listed the item and am donating $50.00 of the proceeds to one of three highly credible charities that the buyer chooses:

  • National Audubon Society, is working to aid birds and habitat affected by the spill.

  • National Wildlife Federation, is responding to the spill.

  • Greater New Orleans Foundation, is assisting locally.

The necklace is a three strand beaded necklace with red aventurine, mahogany obsidian, golden jade, chrysocolla, and antiqued sterling silver charms and findings.

There's a dolphin, sand dollars, starfish and sea horse.

Tears for the Gulf of Mexico
by: Rena

Shannon, I know how you feel. I can hardly bear to think of it.

But what a lovely gesture to use this sea-inspired necklace to contribute toward making a difference.

I love the charms you included in the necklace, and the strands drape so nicely. Perfect sea and sunset colors.

Please let us know which charity the purchaser chooses! And thank you for sharing with us.

Good for You

Hey Shannon: It's a beautiful necklace and a great message. It is heartbreaking, and it seems there's no end in sight. I know if I ever start to sell my things, I would also like to make a donation.

Thanks for sharing,
Becky

Just one
by: Millie.GotRocks

It just takes one to make a difference. You need a thank you \o/.

One of my GotRocks clients is from Baton Rouge; I got an email from her today, it's bad, really bad. The news doesn't really give the full effect.

Wonderful

It breaks my heart too. Thanks for sharing your lovely design and for caring enough to donate.
