Seascape Original Painting Sterling Silver Pendant

This is wearable art of unique character. Oil painted jewelry.

A collaboration of original metalsmithing with silver and an oil painting of a seascape in thick, vibrant oil paint. Pendant and oil painting are both handmade with love and passion.

The plain look of the pendant (matte) makes a special combination with the original oil painting of the seascape, in impressionistic / impasto style.

We live near the North Sea, on the Dutch coast and feel very inspired by the magnificent, mighty sea.

My husband Cor van der Plaat made this silver (.925, first quality) pendant especially for this oil painting I made.

The chain is also sterling silver, first quality, with lobster claw closure, also silver. We enjoy making the design together and finally put painting and pendant together.

As you can see on the pictures, the tiny piece of canvas with the oil painting is sunk into the silver pendant.

Measurements:
Size frame: 40 x 32 (without loop) x 2 mm thick
1.57 x 1.26 inches x 0.08 mm

Chain: fine silver 50 cm
19.7 inches

Weight of the pendant: 20 gram, massive silver.
On the back of the pendant is a tiny mark ".925".

The painting is on canvas, glued into the pendant and varnished for protection.

We both loved making this pendant for the use of wearable art, very much!

Wonderfully Unique

What a unique necklace! The silversmithing is beautiful and so is the original painting. I've not seen anything like it. Wow!

How wonderful that you & your husband can partner together to create such a unique piece of wearable art. I wish you much success in your creative ventures.
