This necklace was designed as part of the "Operation Tackle That Bead Stash" monthly challenge.

See the last picture (above) for our inspiration for the month, and visit the February roundup of spectacular entries.

Join in if your bead stash is beginning to seriously encroach on your living space!

For this challenge I not only wanted to reference the colour scheme, but the form, as well. To that end, I created a spiral pendant of Swarovski crystals. That was the easy part.

I then worked through three different designs before I ended up at the one you see here. It turns out that sometimes, simpler is better!

The details: 4mm Swarovski crystals in Light Smoked Topaz, Indicolite, Smoky Quartz and Pacific Opal interspersed with 2mm Sterling Silver beads, twist, twirl and twine up to a rollo chain made from triangular wire.

Sam, I love the lines in this piece - the angles of the beads' facets and bicones, the interesting shape the beads create, and how it all contrasts with the smooth roundness of the rollo chain.

I think your necklace especially embodies the images in the top right and bottom left of the moodboard prompt. Really a neat interpretation!
