Copper spiral earrings
I get tired of the same old six and seven in making wire jewelry. So I thought I'd try a "new to me" technique. Since I haven't done much work with spirals that seemed like a good place to start.
I've made spirals in 16 gauge and lighter wire so now it was time to use something a little heavier. I wasn't quite ready to tackle 12ga so the solution to that problem was 14 gauge wire.
When I started I had no idea what the final product would be. I made one spiral and decided I'd like to connect it to another one. Well one wasn't too hard so it was on to the next one and the next and the next. When I stopped I had six spirals that all looked like they belonged together.
By this time I had decided to make a necklace. It needed a pendant or center piece, another spiral but one with a difference. On to spiral number seven, the one with a difference.
When I was finished I had 7 textured spirals linked together and a handmade figure 8 chain to finish piece. The arrangement had gone through a few revisions but finally here was one I really liked.
Eventually I made a pair of earrings to make a complete set. However, there are absolutely no plans for a bracelet... ever!
