Spirals and Coils Pendant Necklace
While playing with left over copper coils, I came up with this pendant. I wasn't sure of where it was going but it was developing into a design that resembled a bug - perhaps a newly emerging butterfly?
After suspending some hammered spirals from the pendant, I decided to add a different type of link to put it all together.
I hammered and curved some lengths of copper wire, added more spirals to connect them and then finished with a spiraled hook and eye clasp.
I also added a few extra figure 8 links with a small dangling spiral to provide an adjustable length for the necklace.
I tried it on and loved the way the necklace curved around the neck with those scalloped links.
I meant to keep it for myself and did not display it at my table at a recent craft fair, but I did wear it.
Wouldn't you know it, that was the piece a customer wanted and being soo damned practical, I reluctantly sold it.
I will now have to recreate a similar piece. I miss it badly.
