The Human Condition ~ "Creativity" Necklace

Creativity Necklace with polymer clay mosaic cane, plus glass and sterling silver beads

This piece is one of my favorites from a collection of polymer clay jewelry called "The Human Condition."

In the collection, I tried to use my clay work to express some of the experiences and emotions of our existence. This particular piece is called "Creativity."

I used some scrap clay to create five long, thin, fan-like focal pieces, which I then covered in slices from a mosaic cane (which can be found over at Polymer Clay Polyzine) that contained black, red, dark blue, and yellow clay.

After baking and glazing the focal pieces, I finished off the rest of the necklace with glass and sterling silver beads.

I really liked the way this piece turned out, and I think the polymer clay focals gave it a rather funky, modern art feel to it.
