I have been fusing glass about 5 years in my home studio. I love experimenting with all the new techniques that I learned from a wonderful artist while taking her class.

I have always loved the ocean and found some wonderful ocean themed glass decals, which inspired me to create a series of ocean themed pendants.

This piece was created using 6 layers of glass and kiln fired and annealed four times.

The pendant was then cut using a drill press and coldworked.

Pendant was fire polished for a smooth glossy finish. Glass decal was fired on for the finishing touch.

Sea-themed decals on glass pendants
by: Rena

This is such a fun way to decorate a pendant - and I'm sure collectors of mermaids, etc. make a beeline for these.

I really like the look of the ocean floor and watery feel of the glass under the decal.

Thank you for sharing this cool idea for working with glass, Debra!

love it

I love using fused glass pendants in my pieces (a friend of mine makes them for me) and I usually don't like the decals, but your piece is fabulous - I think because the decal is part of the design, not the whole design. Love it!
