Unusually Uncommon Jewelry Set
The inspiration for creating this set came from a rare moment of monotony and the need to express myself in a different way ~ it did come out quite "different!"
And I'm satisfied with the results because this set looks amazing when worn!!
With thick burlap ribbon, I hand-worked copper wire for hours, trying to achieve the proper balance (although asymmetrical) and achieve an "off-the-wall" set but with an elegant twist.
Copper glass pearls and black glass beads were secured with copper wire and the hook closure in copper as well.
Very simple.....
With some practice, this set can be completed in less than 2 hours but achieving the proper balance, color co-ordinating beads, proportion of the embellishments, design and actual manual labor may take longer.
This set can be created with other fabric - but the stiffer the fabric, the better it lays flat around the neck.
I love copper but I also want to create a set with beige burlap, black wire and faceted black glass... it will be fun!!
