An old button gets a facelift - and becomes a new pendant

This pendant started with a large mother of pearl type button that I saved years ago from one of my grandmother's old coats - I knew I'd find a use for it someday!

I just sandwiched it between some antiqued brass filigree pieces, added some vintage rhinestones and crystals and attached it to a doubled brass chain. I'm excited that this piece was featured in the Fall 2010 issue of Jewelry Affaire!

I love the antique feel and especially the crystal detail in the center. I would never have guessed that it's made from a button either. Definitely gives me some ideas!
