Vintage Pendant with Shell & Baby Fresh Water Button Pearls

The Pendant, graced by Pearls

I got a Vintage pendant, in perfect condition, at an auction and set out to create a Necklace to "Display" it on.

The face of the Antique Gold Pendant has a creamy surface of Mother-Of-Pearl, in a pale golden color. The paler, off-white, Fresh Water Pearl hanging from the Pendant, is the original Pearl.

After a long search thru my "Vast Stash" of beads, collected over a period of about 20 years, I found Shell pearls that matched the Mother-Of-Pearl face of the Pendant, perfectly.

The Off white, Vintage Pearl drop took a bit longer to find. . . but I found it - in some Baby Fresh Water Button Pearls, which fill in the rest of the Pearl strand.

Finishing the Necklace are Antique Gold Beads and a Matching, "Crown and Scepter" toggle Clasp.

I love to "Discover" old Pendants and find exactly what I need, in what my Son, Jesse, calls "The Bead Room", and aptly so! It used to be my "Studio" but because of all the many beads I have collected, over the years, "The Bead Room" name has stuck! Oh well. . . .

It does take a lot of time to find perfect matches of colors and types of beads in there but the reward of a Unique, and Perfectly Blended Creation is worth it!

I suggest that we all take the time to locate the perfect beads for all our creations. . . no matter where we have to look. . . never settling for a "close" match. . . because you never know, just who will see it! . . . Like all of you!

Elegance from Yesteryear
by: Rena

The necklace strand and pearl droplet you added are just perfect for the vintage pendant - they look like they could be the original components, way back when the pendant was new.

Such an elegant, nostalgic look. This piece would be a lovely choice for a bride's "something old" to wear!

Rena, The drop pearl on the pendant is the original pearl! What a time I had matching it perfectly, within my stash! LOL
