Western Buckle Pendant

Yep, I'm still at it - trying to find ways to make jewelry out of every little odd thing I pick up! This time it's a pretty little tooled buckle from a vintage western belt.

I removed the stem part of the buckle and added dangles of turquoise, amber and czech glass along with a cute little cowboy boot charm, and attached the pendant to a matte finish silver chain.

Easy to make and fun to wear!

Your re-purposed belt buckle necklace is a knockout!

I am so impressed with the texture, weight and colors used to their maximum potential.

What I mean when I say weight is that the proportion between the chain and the belt buckle is perfect and its simplicity compliments the etched work n the belt buckle. Your photos are also FANTASTIC. I have photo envy!! It really makes a difference to see piece worn on a person to get the best idea of how it will look.

Maryanne, thanks also for your comment on my photos. When I opened my Etsy shop 2 years ago I had no idea it would require me to learn photography! Believe me, it's a constant struggle and tears have been shed on more than one occasion when I couldn't get a shot to come out right!
The model in my pictures is "Natasha", my mannequin bust. Using her makes picture taking much easier - plus it's kind of fun to dress her in a way that compliments whatever necklace I'm photographing! :)

Daddy's Buckle

Now I know what to do with my daddy's buckle that has been in my jewelry box since he died in 1998. I love his buckle it already has turq, and some small red stones on it. I have a old necklace that broke that I think will go great with it.
