Wild Daisies Fused Dichroic Glass Pendant

Layers of dichroic glass resulted in this lovely pendant.

Layers of dichroic glass resulted in this lovely pendant.

This 1" square pendant is on a gold plated bail. The dichroic layers are in shades of red, blue, green and magenta.

The background glass is dark red and it is covered with clear glass.

The daisy decal is fused right into the glass.

I handcut the sheets of dichroic glass into small pieces and layer them on a background glass, fire the pendant to 1500 degrees, cool slowly, smooth and shape with a grinder and fire again.

It is a lengthy process but well worth it.

It's a thrill to open the kiln and see the finished product.

I especially like how the pendant's surface is designed with two halves - a very neat outcome.

Thank you for sharing a bit about your artistic process, Judy - I always enjoy hearing how other artists create things.
